The Weight of the World

We live in this fast-paced society where we “must” and “have” to do what is thrown at us. Often, it leaves us feeling bewildered, inadequate, and unhappy. What if we can take it upon ourselves to make the change to deal with what this world throws at us? It starts within us, and it is recognizing our strengths and weaknesses which is something we are not normally cognizant about.

One thing that has helped me was realizing that I am only one person, and that I know I give my best when faced with adversity and what the world can throw at me. It is recognizing that when you are faced with a plethora of things being thrown at you, that you must seek help, advice, or just simply let it be known you are overwhelmed. I feel that accepting that I am just one person, and I can only do what I can do has allowed me to conquer through trying situations.

Re-centering yourself in a situation, moment at work, at home, with your family or spouse, or even in everyday life will allow you to deal with whatever the world may throw at you. It has given me a sense of peace to know that I cannot know nor do everything that can be thrown at me. Everything we are faced with, given, expected to do, take time, effort, and perseverance.

Just know that if you feel like you cannot carry the weight of the world, do not expect yourself to. Take one step at a time, because each step we take in our lives leads us to our goals and dreams. Before we know it, we will have within us to take on what the world throws our way.

In the pursuit of happiness and health,
